Ludo Federation boss Kalule calls for improved government funding

Uganda Ludo Federation president Hussein Kalule has called upon the government, through National Council of Sports (NCS) to engage in providing more financial support towards the sport.

Kalule raises financial concerns off difficulties encountered at the 2021 African Ludo tournament in South Africa despite Uganda emerging eventual winners.

“We call upon the National Council of Sports to give us a helping hand in our preparations for the upcoming African championships and Ludo League One preparations.”

Additionally, the federation boss believes more funding should be channeled to Uganda Doves who face obstacles when preparing for continental tournaments.

“More partners are needed because we have put a team together gathering good players from each part of the country and this huge job needs funding.”

The Uganda Ludo League One will take place at Lugogo cricket ground on Sunday 11th September at 10am comprising of seven districts.

Kawempe, Mukono, Makindye, Lubaga North, Lubaga South, Kampala Central, Wakiso among other regions are expected to send participants.

More than 80 Ludo clubs from all districts are set to participate with Basajamivule and Tula Kayembe from Kawempe signaling readiness to rumble.
