UGANDA : Kazo Ss , Namungona Ss ,Maganjo UMEA and UEFA primary school win big at the 2023 Ludo Schools Championship

The four sides registered a trophy each at the inaugural tournament that attracted over 100 players from 20 schools (primary and secondary).

The primary students  played in the singles . Each school was represented by two teams (girls and boys)

In the primary schools girls category , it was a Maganjo UMEA final between Mutesi Patience and Muzamiru Hanisha but Mutesi Patience managed to beat her fellow schoolmate to win the trophy for her school.

Boys Category (Primary)

In the boys category , Musasizi Alvin (UEFA primary school) beat Mugenyi Deo (Blessed Toddlers Junior School) in the finals to win it for his school.

The secondary school students played in the doubles and each school was also represented by two teams. Five teams were pooled in groups.

Boys Category (Secondary)

In the boys category , Kazo Secondary School emerged victorious with 5 points and 20 goals.

Girls Category (Secondary)

In the girls category , Namungona ss clinched the title having collected 5 points and 18 goals.

Speaking to the ULF media ,Students were full of praise having played at the inaugural tournament.

“we have been playing Ludo at home but we are so happy that it was brought into schools its a mind game and we love it because it helps us to improve on our thinking capacities” they said.

The winners received medals and certificate of participation from the Uganda Ludo Federation .

The best teams in each category qualified to represent Uganda at the 2024 Africa Ludo Schools Championship in August in South Africa.
