Uganda : Fierce Kawempe Derby ends in draw

A fierce Kawempe derby on Match Day 19 between the home teams Metal Ludo Club and Kubbiri Ludo Club in the National Ludo Super League at Blend Gardens, Bwaise, concluded in a 2-2 draw.

Sharpshooter Ssekatwa Jamil served as the team’s captain for Metal Ludo Club. After drawing on Match Day 18, they were eager to go back on the winning track. Meanwhile, Kubbiri needed two wins in a row to increase their winning streak to four.

Ssekatwa Jamil displayed eye-catching manoeuvres that guaranteed Metal won the first set as the home crowd sang and sang in support of their team.

By scoring more buttons in the second set, Kubbiri was able to handle the pressure and finish with a victory.

The third set ended in a draw because both sides were up to the challenge.

Ssendawula Gerald, the official referee for the day, set up the field of play for the set-winning penalties.

The fast-paced atmosphere was established with Metal winning in penalties after the duo of Ssekatwa Jamil and Lugolobi Bashir first scored the four buttons in spectacular fashion after scoring a number of ones (“Makene”), throwing the Metal supporters into a frenzy.

Both teams made crucial replacements in the crucial fourth stanza, with Mufumbiro Shafic replacing Ssekatwa Jamil for Metal and Sekkungu Herny replacing Musisi Abdu for Kubbiri Ludo Club.

At the conclusion of the fourth set, Ssekungu Herny scored two buttons and Kalule Gaddafi scored one button to guarantee Kubbiri earned a point.

Metal kept their ninth-place ranking on the table with 23 points after the draw.On the other hand, Kubbiri Ludo Club, with 20 points, likewise maintained their 12th place in the relegation zone.
