Uganda: Nakawa Derby ends in a draw, as Kubbiri returns to winning ways

A full-blooded Nakawa derby ended all square as hosts Nakawa Market and Ntinda United drew 2-2 in the National Ludo Super League at Nakawa Market.

Ntinda United were looking for victory over their neighbours to halt their four-match winless run, with their star man Kitimbo Paul pulling the rabbit out of the hat to secure penalties in the first set.

The Nakawa Market duo of Maxim Jamil Ssenabulya and Ssebandeke Lawrence ensured that Nakawa Market Won the first set in penalties, with Ssebandeke Lawrence scoring four buttons in spectacular fashion, sending the Nakawa fans into dramatic celebrations.

Ntinda, who were seeking their first win in the second round, managed to secure a draw at the end of the sets.

Following the draw, Nakawa Market maintained their second position on the table with 27 points, while Ntinda United descended from 9th to 10th position above the relegation zone with 27 points to their name.

In the other match, the relegation-threatened Kubbiri Ludo Club returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Buloba A Ludo Club.

Experienced player Juma Kajubi and their Captain Robert, who was red carded, ensured the Kubbiri-based Ludo put an end to their 8-match losing streak.
