Uganda’s Nansana Galaxy Crowned 2021- Africa Ludo Club Champion.

The 2021 Africa Ludo Club Championship which took place in a foreign continent due to covid-19 and logistics, has been won by the Uganda’s Nasana Galaxy Ludo club on sunday 23rd May 2021. The galaxys, a team commanded by just a pair of players, Mubiru Emma and Nagadya, exhibited a variety of board skills at the semi, beating Lion du Cameroon, 2-0 while Buloba LC from Uganda also cruised past Yarenga Esco of Malawi, by the same score, setting up a One-Nation-Champions finals. Nansana Galaxy set their sights on victory after overcoming the high depth squad of their countrymen Buloba LC.

The Africa Ludo Federation President, Mr Kalule Hussein  and the International Ludo Representative Mr Serinah Puye, on behalf of the ILF-Asia President Mr. Ravi Singh, presided over the award and closing ceremonies.

Uganda’s Nansana Galaxy and Buloba Ludo Clubs will bear the African Flag at the Afro-Asia Ludo events expected next year.

“Uganda’s Galaxy victory over the rest of the African teams should convince the nation’s teams that they can beat anyone” Mubiru Emma the first winning player and captain at the continental level.

 “We do not regret holding this tournament away from Africa because our players have gained much more experience and broken the gimmick especially that the prevailing conditions back home seemed unfavorable, however, nothing will stop us from growing the game in Africa and our priority now is to widen the membership base, building the structures, attracting partners, while building its image through organizing much more tournaments”, stressed the ALF President, Mr Kalule Hussein.  

In his remarks, during the closing ceremonies, Serinah P, said the success registered at this tournament is a clear indicator of that the game of Ludo in Africa, under the leadership of Kalule Husein has a great future.
